Let's Get Personal

Last Saturday, I hosted a personal shower for my little sister.
I have been looking forward to this for so long.
I love personal showers!
The pink, the lace, the gifts, the games, the awkwardness -
I love it all.
Thankfully, I had LOTS of help from the other bridesmaids, because who knew it was so difficult to throw a party in a city 7 hours away.
It all started with this cute little invitation that I ordered off of Etsy.
From there, it was all pink, everywhere!
Most of my inspiration for the shower came from pictures of Princess Parties for 4 year-olds on Pinterest.
But I didn't hate it, and I don't think Bailey minded much either.
First we had the sign-in table by the front door, and advice cards for the guests to write to Bailey.
We had the shower in the living room, and put the guest of honor right next to her gift table.
As you can see, I love pink and I really love tulle.
It was all over and made the party feel sweet and fancy.
Above the gift table we hung 2 clothes lines to display all the gifts that Bailey was going to get.
(Refer to invite above)
And then there was the food, the wonderful food!
It was a brunch shower, and the food was delicious!
After everyone had eaten, we played some games!
I made a Famous Couples game, where the guests had to fill out the 2nd half to each couple listed.
I used several from tv shows and movies that I knew my sister liked, to make it a little more personal.
It was fun to see the ones that people knew right away, and the ones that kind of threw them.
The second game was somewhat like the Newlywed Game.
The night before the shower, I had asked Bailey's fiance Jon some questions, and filmed him as he held up his answer on sheet of paper.
At the shower, Bailey had to guess what she thought Jon's answer would be.
Before we started, the guests guessed the number of questions they thought she would get right.
She actually did pretty well, and got 8 out of 13 correct (I think)
Next, we had the bride-to-be read through the advice she was given.
Some was sweet, some was scandalous, but it was all humorous!
Then, the bridesmaids presented Bailey with several pairs of panties while reading a poem, and then we spent time opening gifts.
Sister got TONS of great stuff, and I would say she is more than set for the wedding in just over a month! (and many years after that!)

It was such a fun shower!
We had a great turnout, and I'm so thankful for all the girls that came and showed their love to Bailey.
This is a very special time, and even more special when surrounded by those you love the most.
Congratulations Sister!
I love you so much, and now we just get to look forward to wedding day!

  2. I'm so proud of my girls--all grown up and quite as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Thanks for all your hard work, Brittany. You really outdid yourself! Thanks, Bailey and Brittany for allowing me to be part of this special day. So glad that you are not only sisters, but also friends. Love, Mom
